Haven't had much to say lately so, I haven't! Life goes on! Sometimes it's fun and other times, it's not! One thing that is fun is Alivia! She was sooooo cute when I had the chance to see her Easter Sunday! I gave her a hat and scarf that I crocheted. It matches her Mommy's! She was thrilled to say the least! Since they are making it impossible to have a cigarette during working hours, I am going to give it my best shot at quitting! I will, of course, have a nicotine aid of some sort. I don't want to work somewhere else!!!! I have smoked for almost 34 yrs. That's about 2/3 of my life. All I ask is that people PLEASE have patience with me and in return, I PROMISE to do my best not to be a B-I-T-C-H (see? I spelled that....I didn't say it)!! It will be a very hard adjustment for myself and anyone who knows me and please.....if I slip a little....don't say anything because I really don't like snapping at people I love! My son is here. It's so great to see him! We were able to introduce him to our good friends tonight. We had a great time, WONDERFUL dinner cooked by my husband! My son played piano. We chatted. It was a lot of fun. I had told them to bring along any of their family who was interested. I guess they were all busy but.... no worries! We had a wonderful evening! I really would hope to have a BBQ with our families next summer. Hope they will think about it. I think we could all have a lot of fun and really get to know each other!

Well... I've actually spent a lot of time crocheting lately. Trying to come up with the perfect hat for my friend's granddaughter. One that is not too big for her...LOL! I haven't crocheted in a long time.....and that was dolls. Cute dolls. I made 14 million (seemed like it anyway) of those while I spent time on bedrest. I made one a couple of years ago for a Christmas party. Other than that one, I hadn't made one in about 25 years. It sure helps me NOT smoke. That's good, right? Ahhhhh what a vice. Anyways, I have found this to be quite relaxing so, I think I'll get back into it!

The Good Old Flu

Well....I got the flu shot (not my idea....they made me at work). I have had it 2 times before. 11 yrs and 10 yrs ago. Both times, I got the flu. They say you cannot get the flu from it because it is a dead virus. Funny thing, I haven't had the flu in 10 yrs....since the last flu shot. So this year, I got the flu shot and guess what! I got the flu which in turn, progressed to pneumonia. I do not think people should be forced to have something they don't want. OK....well.....not exactly forced. Kind of coerced. If you didn't get the shot, you had to wear a mask for you entire shift for 6 months. I can barely get through a c-section with a mask on (an hour or so)! However, if they do this again next year, I think I'll choose the mask!

A LITTLE EYE CANDY

Back in Jan., I bought tickets to see Sugarland. Well...it was really Keith Urban's World Tour but, Sugarland was playing lead-up for him. My friend and I really love Sugarland. I like Keith Urban too....don't get me wrong! In fact, he doesn't have to even sing! He can just stand there and let me look at him for a while...LOL! He is a fantastic musician and performer though. He walks out into the crowd. That really impressed me. None of that, "you can't touch me" BS. He really plays to the entire audience no matter where you're sitting. Anyways, Sugarland has gotten their own tour now. I can't really blame them for wanting to headline. So, they were not there. I WAS SOOOO BUMMED!!! However, I did have a good time and did enjoy the show. Little Big Town was lead-up and were very good (I tried not to like them but found myself quite enjoying them...after all.....wasn't their fault)! It was a fun time!

Thanks to all of you who have been so sweet, kind and understanding these last couple of months! Without you....I think I would be in the NUTHOUSE! I know I tend to go a little off the deep end at times but, you have helped soooooo much!! I'm hoping things will continue to look up and, I know it won't happen overnight! It is such a slow process! We went camping this past weekend! That is such therapy for me! The really nice thing is....the people we camp with have the attitude, "It's your vacation....do what you want & have fun!" no one gets all hurt or offended if you choose to sleep almost the whole weekend (which is pretty much what I did....LOL)! I did go on 2 real nice (& sometimes scary) wheeler rides! I think I've just had so much stress & so little sleep in the past couple of months that it just caught up when I had the chance to relax! We did have a wonderful time though!

We got home Mon night & of course, I stayed up til around 6 am. Around 7:30 am, I found out my friends were not quite moved out of their old house to their new house. So, I went & spent the day helping them! Now, I have their little doggie as a foster child until......? She is the same breed as my dog and a little sweetheart! The 2 of them get along beautifully (I thought my dog would be jealous but, no she's not)! The thing that gets me is....I came home from work tonight & couldn't find either one! Well....they were both piled up in the bed with my husband! Good thing they're little...LOL! Well, the new baby has now taken a liking to my hubby & refused to leave his side! Why? I cannot figure out the answer to that question! I spoil them as much as he does! MY dog became his dog! Now it seems, this doggie prefers him too! He never wanted a little dog but wouldn't have any other breed now....he just can't help loving them! It's quite funny, actually! They are Silky Terriers.....wonderful dogs!!! I guess I just have to spoil them when he's not home cause they just stick with him when he is! I'll live though....really! In the pics, Paul is holding my dog, Sadie & the other beautiful Silky is our new foster child, Flossy!

Well.....yesterday was a very good day! I went to a movie & lunch with my best friend in the whole world! We had a fabulous time (as we ususally do although, it's usually only 1 or 2 times a month)! Then when I got home, my daughter was there with all 3 of her babies! The daddy of the 3rd had taken him 1 month ago and was sorta holding him hostage to try and avoid paying child support! Now, he is home with the condition we give him back.......oh! that makes me laugh!!!! He will not see him again until a legal paper is filed establishing custody! I was unaware a single mother had to establish custody! It's true though! Anyways, point is....he's home, my daughter feels better & grandma gets to see her babies!!!

That's me....confused! Seems I have stepped on some toes (in my family & theirs)! No one will ever know what these wonderful people did for me as a child (teen)! I know I'll never be family but, the bond we share is very special! It does not take love from anyone else! I'm really confused how someone could feel that way! It hurts, but I'm not gonna let it break my ties! I hope our children know we love them but sometimes, we need our friends that we can talk to. They have their friends & lives and do not change plans with them for us. We have done soooo much for our children out of love & concern and, it really hurts to be abandoned by them. I never had a mother who cared! I had sort of a surrogate mom for a while during a time in my life that I felt alone & if not for her (& her wonderful husband), I truly feel I would not be in this world! I guess that's hard to understand if you had parents that loved & protected you rather than hurting you (mentally AND physically) your entire life. I searched a long time for my surrogate parents & was sooooo looking forward to meeting & spending fun times with their children & ours but, I guess that's just a dream that will never be fulfilled.....what else is new? I'm used to rejection......but it still hurts!

OK....so I was really frustrated when I wrote that last blog but, it was good therapy that didn't cost me anything! Things are looking a little better today! Doesn't mean I won't quit worrying! I think that's a huge part of my nature but, I am better able to deal now. Everyone seems to be getting along well now! I'm not sure they really knew how stressed out I was! A Rock and A HARD place!

It was a gorgeous day today (well...yesterday, really)! I hope that's really the beginning of spring! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with some dear friends at The Texas Roadhouse! Then, we rode around a little with top down on the convertible. We got home, our friends came in to visit a while and then......drama! My daughter is having a hard time understanding why she isn't allowed to have her boyfriend spend the night and my hubby seems to think that sitting on the bed, fully clothed (including shoes and not even touching, mind you) watching TV is a horrible sin! First of all, my daughter is 26 yo.....not 14! So needless to say, I do not have a problem with her boyfriend watching TV in her bedroom with the door open! So.....a disagreement occurred and our friends quickly left. I feel very bad that on one of the few nights my husband & I actually get to spend enjoyable time together and with wonderful friends, my daughter had to bring the drama! I love her dearly! She has made mistakes but, that does not change my love for her! She is working very hard in school! Why can't she just accept the help (lots of it) we are giving her and be greatful she has it? She will someday have her own place where she can do as she pleases. I have backed my husband up on the sleepover thing but.........watching TV? Come on!!!! Why can't she be treated like she has a little sense and be trusted a little? We all talked! Everyone loves everyone but, I really wish the talk could've waited without someone trying to run away acting soooo not the 26 yo she wants to be treated like! I hate being stuck in the middle but even more.........I hate that my rare fun night with wonderful friends was cut short because of a stupid argument!!!

Just when you think Spring is here, BOOM! It snows!!! Could I be mistaken about when Spring is supposed to start? All I know is.....I really want to go camping! It would be nice if it it didn't snow! I am at the point where I have cabin fever so bad, I'll even camp in the snow! SOON! I usually camp with a very diverse little group of people but even with all our differences, we have a fabulous time and can't wait to do it again!

OK......so I saw that Twilight movie. I have to say I enjoyed it very much! I did understand it but just from what I've read in the book so far, I am glad I went ahead and watched it! The book seems to be more detailed and, I think I would not have enjoyed the movie so much had I finished the book! I bought this movie for my friend's birthday and am supposed to watch it with her this week! I still want to and hope if she gets wind that I saw it, she'll still watch it with me anyways! You see, I bought it from Amazon and since it came out on the weekend, I won't receive it til Mon. Imagine my surprise when they sent me a code to watch it online at midnight! I tried to ignore it for a while and wait to see it with my friend but, well.....anyone who knows me knows I have zippo in the willpower dept. Still......I enjoyed it & will watch it again and again!

I have now been tagged by 2 people so I guess I better do this...LOL! I have no idea who to tag though as all of these people kinda form a circle so..... Why don't you all just do the dang list & we'll all find out everything we wanted to know....and then some. I am so outspoken I don't possibly believe there is anything about me no one already knows! LOL!!

So.......here goes........

1.I don't want to outlive my husband or kids.....weird, I know but....nonetheless how I feel!I adore them!

2.I (like Kim) .....had 7 yrs piano lessons (although I paid my allowance to get them) and 8 yrs violin (in school mostly but, about 2 yrs private lessons ....which I also paid for myself). I can play some piano and less violin. My violin was stolen when I was 23 and I have recently aquired another. Not as nice but....I don't play as nice either. I will continue to practice though.

3.I love reading! Problem is....I always read about 4 books at the same time. Depending on my mood, I will pick one to read when I go to bed. Thus, I fall asleep and don't get too much read but, I still enjoy reading!

4.I wish I had been a better mother to my kids! They say I was and am a great mom but, I think I could've spent a little more time with them!

5.I once was gonna be a great country and western singer (don't cha know) but now....I can barely sing!

6.I love my job but tend to burn out. I wish I could go part-time but, that is not gonna happen!

7.I miss my brother and my dad!

8.I always wanted to fit in but never have (except with my husband and kids who have a lot of patience and get me).

9.I hugged Ray Charles once. I met the members of REO Speedwagon and have a guitar pick from their guitar player with the band insignia and his name imprinted in it!

10.(Whew! It's hard to come up with 10 things)! I have so many weird stories about my family that a lot of people think I am BS-ing but, they're real! I know.....I was (and am) there! Probably why I am weird!

Yesterday was Paul's birthday! So.......I had the day off! He had to work....LOL!! He came home and told me someone at work did a very good job of singing Happy Birthday ala Marilyn Monroe! Oh! I wish I had been there to see it!!! Then, he told me I shouldn't have told anyone it was his birthday but, the little twinkle in his eye told me he was secretly thrilled!! We went out Mon. night! So......CELINE WAS EVERYTHING I HOPED SHE WOULD BE!!! She is one of the very few who sounds as good live as she does on a CD! She is funny, passionate & puts on a spectacular show! I was not disappointed at all &, I am not sorry I hocked my stereo to go to this fabulous concert! OK.....so I didn't hock my stereo but, I thought I might have to! LOL! My husband also enjoyed it & said he was very impressed! That's great coming from a Pink Floyd fan! I would highly recommend seeing her if you're ever given the chance!!!

I hope cameras are allowed! You know......sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't! My cell phome was almost taken from me at one concert I hve attended! No cameras were allowed.......although...... I saw may people had them! This is the way I see it! I paid a darn good buck for those tickets (they are not $7....like they were when I was a teen.....a few years ago)! I've been playin' with this new phone I got, going to movies (good ones), watching a lot of TV and generally, being lazy on my days off! Sometimes......I just don't know what to write about! I miss my family down in the good ole (WARM) south! I miss my (adopted) sis, Glory Ann and I miss my husband cuz we keep missin' each other with our different schedules! Sometimes, I get 5 or 10 minutes before I have to rush off to work myself! I miss the heck out of Kim and Rachael! They always put a bright spot in my day!

Sorry! Grandkids have been sick. Furnace broke down. Husband still workin' on the roof (sun or snow....makes me a little nervous). I work. Any more excuses? Naw....don't think so! I haven't really had alot going on except the aforementioned things! I'll include a pic of mypoor little sick, pathetic grandchild....LOL!! I think she plays it up a little, but she really was sick!

My son will be home at the end of the month from Alaska (BRRRRR)! It will be so good to see him again. The girls (most) are doing well. They're both in school. One is struggling a bit, but I just keep encouraging her & hope she passes everything! It will be hard for her but she can do it!

Now....just preparing to go see Adele this month & Celine (hopefully) next month! I sure hope she's not sick and doesn't postpone again! One of the sweetest people I work with is not going to get to go because of the last postponement! The new date just didn't work out! That would be disheartening to me!

Seems like this was a LONG week! I have worked & worked...well, sort of! It's been a little slow these last few days but, I was there! LOL!! Now...3 glorious days off!! (Thanks, Kris)! Our Christmas dinner will be on Christmas Eve. I work on Christmas day but, that's OK! No one at my house is complaining! An early Christmas is fine with them! I'm really starting to get into it now. I believe I've lost that big grey cloud that was hanging over my head. I sure hope my work family will forgive me!! They are a wonderful bunch to work with & really let me know they care!

That's what I like about Christmas!!!! I LOVE ALL THE DIFFERENT TREES!!!!! I love all the styles and most especially,.......THE COLORS!! I hear people tell other people that so & so has a prettier tree! You know what? If everyone had the same tree and the same decorations......why would you get to have so much fun checking everyone else's out? You could just kick back & look at your own.....LOL!!!!

OBAMA ROCKS!!!!! I am thrilled he got elected!! Maybe he can restore our country to what it used to be!! FDR managed. It took a few years but, at least there's hope it can be done again!!! I LOVE Halloween! I usually have to work and always wear a costume! Usually, I am invited to a party and can not attend (because off work). This year, I am off and, I have a costume. Well, guess what! No one (I know) is having a party....LOL!!! Guess I'll dress up and hope some kids show up to trick-or-treat! There is this trend of "Trick -or-Trunk" where people go to their church or school and the parents fill their trunks of their cars with candy and, the kids go and collect their bounty that way! The last 2 years, we have had zero trick-or-treaters show up! Do I really want to sit and hope? Dilemma! I'll keep looking for a party, I guess...LOL! Next year I'll sign up to work...at least I get to dress up for fun and, we pass candy at the nurses' stations to community and employee children. My grandkids are going with their parents!

Tonight, we had a birthday dinner for my son, Stephen. His birthday was Oct 12th but between all our very different schedules, this was the only time it would work out. I made spaghetti. That's what he asked for. I may not be very crafty or computer savvy BUT,.....I make a mean spaghetti!! It turned out very nice! I got to give hugs and kisses to their 2 youngest, BreAnna & Luke! They love their grandma!! It sure would be nice to see them more....along with the rest of their kids!!! I'll take what I can get though....it's always worth it!!! Happy Birthday, Stephen! I love you, son and am very proud of you!!

Yep, that's what I did last night! Run, run, run! We delivered 5 babies and tied someone's tubes in 5 hours!!! It was busy!!! ( There are only 2 nurses in L&D as we are a small hospital). Every thing went beautifully! What could have been very stressful turned out to be quite a nice shift!!! Have I mentioned I love my job?

Well....here it is.....5 AM again! I have become quite the insomniac! The power went out tonight though. I was stuck with my flashlight and no heat! It's snowing like crazy outside! At least the power wasn't out for too long!

What a FABULOUS concert!!!!! I LOVE REBA but more importantly, I was so impressed with Kelly! I mean, I liked her alright but tonight, she was phenomenal! That girl can wail!!! These two together are GREAT!!!! So much fun!!!! Next month......CELINE! I can't wait!

Here Comes The Snow.......

I can HARDLY wait for the snow (she says with sarcasm)! Being born and raised in Florida and spending another 10 years there as an adult, I dread the snow! I remember the AC running on Christmas Eve in FL!! I spent age 13-28 in UT so, I do know how to drive in it! The one really positive thing I can say is....It's very beautiful! If I didn't have to ever leave my house, I could deal with it much better! LOL! At age 13, I saw it snow for the first time. I was so excited! The next day, I couldn't wait to go on my first sledding expidition. Well after about 2 hours, I was a popsicle! That was the end of my love of snow! I will probably never leave UT again, so I'll try to get used to it! Maybe I should let Autumn run it's course before I think about it again....LOL!!!!

Wow....this week has been sooooooo busy! Mostly work....c-section week, I think! It runs in spurts! We won't have to do one forever. Then, all of a sudden....BAM! I've had to stay 2-3 hours late a couple of times BUT.........somehow, I still love my job! I love my patients and, they love me! It makes it all worthwhile! I'm so glad I chose my profession!!!

I love that movie!!!! Saw it again today for the second time!!! Went with a Great friend of mine who hadn't seen it! I believe she loved it too!!!! I'll probably go again too!!! I've already put my name in to be notified when it comes out on DVD!!!! LOL!!!! I recommend this movie to anyone who just wants to have a little fun! There's a Sing-A-Long version out now! THAT would be FUN!!! Maybe next time.......

OK....Deann is alive.Drugs seem to be THE big problem. She was found in an abandoned home with a guy,and they were beating each other up. He was arrested for Drugs (meth), paraphenalia and domestic violence. They let her go......WHERE? Who knows. she doesn't have a home anymore! Why didn't they take her to a rehab or detox center or somewhere? I don't get it! That was 1 week ago. I still have no clue where she is, but she is still alive......at least a week ago she was.

My daughter, Deann, quit speaking to me. I really think drugs are involved. She has now disappeared. We reported her missing 4 days ago. No one has seen her, her phone is disconnected, and she also quit getting in touch with the other kids. Her friend tells us she hasn't heard from her in over a month. Last night when I got home from work, there was a message from a detective on my phone. Ashlee had already heard it and called the police dept. The detective will not be in until this morning, but they did tell us he was a homicide detective. I am worried!

Mom is gone. Zyon's back to school, and I am back to work....for a few days! One more week off this summer over Labor Day! I have only been camping once this summer and am pretty upset about it!! Usually we go at least 3 times, but my husband (the workhorse) picked up too much work this summer! I know he means well, but he knows how disappointed I am and how grumpy I get when I don't get out of 'Dodge' once in a while! Oh well! Hopefully next year we'll go more, or I may get angry enough to sell the camper.....well.....probably not....LOL!

We have had so much fun with my MIL! It has been a very good and much needed visit. She has done a lot around here, even though I keep telling her to stop! We didn't ask her here to cook or clean, but she keeps saying, "I like doing dishes!" I'm not sure I'm buying that one....LOL! She leaves Fri. I'm pretty sure we won't get her out this way again. Well......maybe I'll have to take a little trip to NY.....hmmmmm!

My Mother-in-law will be here tomorrow....well, I guess today. It is, after all, Fri. I am very excited to see her! It's been 3 yrs. She left here on sorta bad terms, but she and I have been in touch most of the time. My hubby has had some difficulty getting over the hurt she caused. I'm sure when they see each other again, it will be alright! They are both wonderful people! So.....we'll see how this goes! She'll be here a week. If you have a family, it's really important to stay close if at all possible. I have never been close to my own family. I've collected one along the way (a couple of different people) but have always wished my biological one was closer!

I find myself really hooked on the Olympics! I always stay up late, but I can't sleep until I read! The Olympics are on so late, it makes for a late start in reading and, I go to bed even later! Oh well.....at least I can sleep in.....my kids are all grown! Some of my grandkids live with us but, they have a wonderful mommy that gets up with them! They don't wake me early! (Maybe they are afraid to......I can be quite grumpy early in the morning...LOL)!!

Family......what is family really? Family are the people who love you for who you are....even if they haven't seen or spoken to you for 32 years! Don't get me wrong, I have a wonderful husband, beautiful kids and grandkids whom I dearly love!!! I also have some people who have recently re-entered my life who I'll always consider family! I hope they stay in my life as I Love Them Dearly as well! They saved my life and are very special to me! I used to wish they were my parents. Back in the day, I was 14 years old but, I looked and acted about 10...LOL!! (TRUE). Now, we're pretty much in the same age group, so I guess they'll have to be just special family members! They are too young to be my parents!

There is also one other person who has been like a sister to me for almost as long. She lived with us when her stepmom booted her out at age 14. We both had strange households that we grew up in and became as close as sisters. She is also FAMILY!

My point is.....none of these people have the same blood as me! Does it matter? NOT AT ALL!!!

Well, I tried to edit the names under the Photos so they were in the right order but, I just made them worse! So, I give up! The tiny baby is Stephen and Stacy's newest, Luke (named after my brother). The BIG family is Stephen, Stacy and the rest of their children. BreAnna is in Stacy's arms. The pic of the Beautiful Mommy &2 kids is Ashlee with two of hers, Zyon and Alivia. The blonde baby is Ashlee's 3rd, Gavin. The cute girl (or woman....ooh that's hard) alone is Chelsea, my youngest. The 4 kids (adults?) are: Stephen (my 1st, standing...arm in cast) sitting L to R are Deann, my #2, Chelsea (#4) in the middle and Ashlee (#3). This was taken Christmas 2006.

Well.....I saw my friends and I have to say.....They are the most wonderful people!!! We had a great visit!!! I hope to see them again soon and introduce them to my family! I wasn't one bit disappointed!!!! They do not judge me (or anyone for that matter)! I still love them very much and am thankful I finally found them! I don't intend to lose track again! I feel like they feel the same!!! It was a very happy and exciting time for me!!!!

Well....I finally found some people from my past I've been searching for for about 30 years! They've graciously invited me to their home tonight. I am extremely excited to to see them. They meant more to me than I think I could ever express! It'll be great to see them again! I know I've changed alot and, that scares me a bit but if they are the wonderful people I remember, that won't matter.

My little girl (Ashlee) is trying out for AI tomorrow! I hope she can keep her nerves in check! She has a beautiful voice and if she doesn't get too nervous, she will do well!
